Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients:

Chicken

  • 1 fresh whole chicken
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Basic Garlic dry rub:

  • 1/2 Granulated Garlic
  • 3 table spoons Thyme leaves
  • Kosher salt – to taste
  • Black Pepper – to taste
  • You can add fresh or dried rosemary as well

Optional – Cory’s Cajun dry rub

Cajun dry rub:

  • 1 cup of granulated garlic
  • 3 table spoons of onion powder
  • 3 table spoons of dried Thyme leafs
  • 2 table spoons of dried Spanish paprika
  • 1 table spoon of dried chili flake
  • 1 table spoon of dried coriander
  • 1 ½ table spoons of dried mustard
  • 1 ½ table spoons of Kosher salt
  • 1 table spoon of Chili powder
  • 1 table spoon of ground cumin
  • Fresh black ground black pepper to taste

Can of Beer or you can use soda pop

Directions:

  • Drizzle Olive oil over each Chicken
  • Add dry rub to each chicken
  • Use Aluminum foil to cover the legs of the chicken to protect from the heat
  • Add to hot grill, indirectly and rotate 15 degrees every 15 minutes until done, estimated 1 hour to 1.15 minutes depending on the size of each chicken.
